Seeing Life through a Pizza

I am sure that most of us have either eaten or seen a pizza.

Try imagining one!

A pizza base - loaded with cheese inside and over it; the toppings - red tomatoes, green capsicum, white onions, black olives, green jalapeno, golden corns and red paprika and so on.

All these different coloured and different flavoured toppings are spread on top of the same cheese without discrimination again their colour or taste. Just like this, all people of the world in spite of their colour or characteristics are nowadays immersed in the risk of same enemy - Coronavirus. The pizza base is the world with corona (just like cheese) spread all over and we, the diverse people of the world, are the various multi-coloured and multi-flavoured toppings.

This little virus has caused over 315 thousand deaths all over the world. It is currently the boss of the world. All people fear one name that is CORONA. It is true that it is a disaster but looking from a positive perspective, it has also brought out a sense of equality and unity amongst us.

First, It has treated everyone and everywhere equally - whether males or females, rich or poor, black or white, East or West. The mighty British empire that once ruled many countries is now facing the same epidemic as faced by its former colonies; the pandemic has affected the US and Australia alike and similarly, Asia or Europe alike. Thus, what took several years to accomplish by the means of drafting constitutions, public protests, and reservation of seats has been surprisingly accomplished by this virus within 5 months.

Second, it has promoted unity in diversity. Today all countries, big or small have come together to fight against the same thing. There are many organisations who have been working for global unity for years and corona virus alone could make this achievement. Who would have thought this would ever happen?

Interestingly, it has taught humanity a lesson for its insensitivity towards nature. Earlier, we used to cage the birds and roam around, but now the birds fly freely and we are caged in our houses. There are many other changes that have taken place –

Skies are bluer, accidents are fewer,

Crime is falling, and nature is calling

Corona has shown us that no one and nothing should be underestimated by its size, or any characteristics; even a small thing can rule the world. This tiny virus has changed and will change the way of our thinking and living just like a slight sprinkle of oregano can change and enhance the taste of a pizza!!
